I'v just noticed, when I zoom the lens the delay in aperture response,

I twist the zoom control manually and a fraction of a second later the electronics inside the lens moves the glass accordingly then after another delay the exposure changes. Its as if the lens electronic controller moves the glass first then thinks a bit then it alters the Iris.
Any chance of a firmware update to speed this up I feel its what makes the lens ramping so obvious

The 14-140 is useless to try and make on camera zooms.

Unfortunately, our 14-140 is still in transit back to us from the Panasonic service in fabulous McAllen, TX
(or I'd mess around with it to see if faster shutter or framerates reduce the lag time).

That said, the Lumix lens series "auto" features are aimed towards the still cameras .. they
really don't work all that well for video (due to lag / negotiation between the camera and
the lens). We turn all that stuff off. We do use them to double-check
ourselves (focus and aperture) on occasion.

I'm not as extreme as HVXguy .. I think you can do on-camera zooms with it (depending on the
    scene). Rack-focus is a crap-shoot.
