Hi, I am a longtime fan of DVX fest, first time participant. I've been planning to enter forever and finally decided I had to because of the topic. Too bad I am getting a late start Hopefully I will pull it all together.

My entry is based on a screenplay I am finishing that is very special to me and that I hope to shoot someday with a real budget. The title of that screenplay, incidentally, is VILLAIN

VILLAIN is an ultra-realistic (no superpowers) superhero movie in which the villain is the protagonist. I feel compelled to share more about the story, but I am very protective of it for now.

The short (No tile yet unless I can call it VILLAIN) is a modified "slice" of the full film, focusing on the point where tensions are highest.

At the culmination of our villain's grandest and most wicked scheme, he is confronted by a vigilante, however, instead of fighting, the two talk and in their strained conversation we learn of their history. As children, the two lived in the same orphanage and were best of friends, but the future villain's abusive past lead him down a dark path. Over the years, his friend tried many times to deter our villain from this path until eventually he resorted to vigilantism. In this final moment, only our villain can stop what he has begun. Will he seek redemption or is he beyond saving?

I need to fix that up a bit, or a lot, but you get the general idea. There's also some elements of a love story.

    Screenplay by: Me
    Director: Me
    DP: Most likely me
Rest of crew: My various film friends
Composer: Let me know if you are interested

    Equipment we will be using:
    Canon 60d
Contax Zeiss Primes (and possibly some other primes if they cut together well)
    Tamron 17-50
    1.2 meter Konova Slider (huge!)

Plus, tripods, monopods, the flycam dslr, gini rig, various mics, zoom h4n, lights etc.

Welcome to the fest. You may want to come up with a logline instead of a summary. This will leave some mystery for the audience and make watching the film more enjoyable.
