How to create a "Digital Cut" back to th

Can anyone provide a brief synopsis of the steps to create a
"Digital Cut" via fire wire back to a DVX tape?
I experimented with various settings, but could not get the camera to begin recording. Surely I missed something along the way.

after adding your bars, tone and slate you can do a digital cut to supported decks.
If your having trouble and it;s not for broadcast, you can just hit record on your source and play your timeline. The IOs are hot all the time.
