Are sofas from Costco generally of decent quality (especially compared to say, Ashley's Furniture?). I'm not looking for stuff that you'd find at a top end furniture store, per se (such as Hancock & Moore), but still something of very good quality that will last. I'd prefer top grain leather for the ease of cleaning. Are the sofas at Costco a good buy and worth the price? For example:

I've never had a sofa from there, but I can tell you my Costco mattress is the best I've ever slept on. And they have a great return policy if you can get it back.

As a person who buys a whole lotta stuff from Costco, I am usually a very satisfied customer. However, I have had very spotty results with Costco furniture. Four buys over 2.5 years, and all have disappointed. I haven't tried the online stuff which is often more expensive (maybe better?), but I am finished buying $1000 sofas from the wherehouses.

I suppose it does depend on the particular brand or manufacturer of the sofa piece? I found the manufacturer and model for the piece linked above... D'oro Furniture:

I think you'd have a lot more responses - over a 1000 - if you titled your thread: Is it possible to get an amazing couch for under $10,000, from Costco. And included a poll.

If you don't like the couch, you can return it.

Don't know of any other furniture stores that permit that as Costco does.

But you still have to get it home and then get it back to the store - or pack it back up if you ordered on-line - if you don't like it.

I found a great couch at the Goodwill Store, admittedly after about 6 months of looking in all the second-hand stores in the area. Two seater, real leather in great shape - $50, $60 if you include the $10 I gave the guy for helping me load it on the roof of my car.

BTW, you may want to check out FreeCycle. I got carpeting & an entertainment unit for the kids playroom in the basement, bookcases I put in the attic, storage boxes, tons misc. items for Foley props and, my favorite, $500 worth of genuine 2" Auralex sound treatment (about 24 square feet) - ALL FOR FREE!!! All I had to do was pick it up.
