I recently purchased this lens modified on ebay. I have to say the lens is very sharp but it breathes way too much. Even when zoomed out.

I'm not sure if this is due to the modification of the lens or whether it is the lens itself. however, I was really disappointed with the breathing, especially with how much I paid for the lens.

The lens heavily vignettes. Maybe a 2x extender would limit the vignetting a bit, but I don't think I can try that option since it has been modified. I knew already that it vignettes, but the breathing is what bothers me the most.

I love my computar 25mm 1.3 c-mount. Very sharp with slight vignetting but absolutely no breathing. It's my every day lens on my GH2. Takes fantastic photos and video. I was hoping the cosmicar/pentax 8-48mm lens would be a nice video lens, but I think I might sell it and look at some other c-mount lenses.

excellent video with th cosmicar 8-48,,but how did you get this sharp ??will this work with the gh1?with filed down adapter??how did you get this to make such cinematic look??i just bought the 4-48 cosmicar,,can you give me some info on making this lens look as good as your video,,,??thnx,,,great lookijng shots,,,amazing lens,,,,
