Barry Green must see this. He has been looking for tragedies.

While reading the YouTube comments, I couldn't believe how many people think that video is real. Surprising how easy it is to fool people now a days.

    Exactly!
Yeah...if I'm going to propose the first place I'd think of is a crowded mall food court. (how romantic....asking the love of your life to take your hand while people stuff their faces with fast food!)

Well, I can't say that there is anything obviously fabricated about the scene, other than that it was conveniently caught on camera in a shopping mall in Los Angeles and, if the woman was going to panic and leave, you would think she would have done so early on when it was obvious that he was proposing and not waited until he actually pulled out a ring.

The guy says in the video that they met there, so that's why he was proposing in the food court.

If the video is fake, it's a very well done fake. It starts with the proposal all ready going on, and the filmers don't portray themselves in a very good light by laughing at the guy toward the end.

Other than the song and cheesy dialogue, which is hilarious btw (see quotes above), the actors don't try very hard to sell the scene. Especially his reaction at the end, where he tries so hard to play the victim. Any guy, in that uncomfortable situation, would have run after her the moment she left. Not continue to stand there, embarrassed, and soaking in the pity and laughs. But it makes for better entertainment, doesn't it? Also, as already mentioned, if she wasn't interested then why would she continue to stand there when she knew from the beginning what he was doing (the guy was down on his knees from the start). Most people would have walked away once the guitar and song started. Also, the "Reply" video someone posted (of two guys running into the "proposal guy" at a "flea market") is even more proof it's fake. The guys recording the reply video are the same guys who recorded the original video (listen to their voices). But the biggest giveaway that it's fake is that it was posted by a video production company. Ha! "Their 15 minutes of fame ...just expired." [put on sun glasses and play CSI: Miami intro]
