I need help with figuring out stands for boompoles that way I don't need a boom op. As far as mic's go I will be using an ntg 3 for outside with a rode blimp (if needed) and for outside an audio technica at4053b for inside, the reason I list this is because of weight. I was looking at the Pearstone Boompole Holder accessorie and was wondering if it would work with a green screen stand that I already have, do I need to buy something else with it. I was also thinking it would be a good idea to get one with wheels on it but that might be out of my price range.
This is the Pearstone Boompole Holder

That's exactly the boompole holder I use - I generally put a grip head on a light stand and it works just fine (though I would recommend using a sandbag, you don't want your mic falling on the talent...or the floor).
As far as what kind of stand - I've used it on some pretty lightweight stands - honestly it's probably more an issue of how far out are you booming, and what kind of boompole are we talking about.
I've used lightweight stands when doing an interview - with the boompole only extending out a few feet - I've also used it on a c-stand when I needed added stability for booming out ten feet or so.

These are the 'lightweight' stands I was referring to above:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...Cushioned.html
I definitely wouldn't put a boompole on anything lighter than that... and honestly I don't use that stand unless it's a pretty short boom distance (as in, I'm not extending the boompole more than a foot past it's closed length). Past that, you can look at pretty much any lightstand with a stable base, or alternatively get a c-stand. Either way, definitely get a sand bag to weigh it down with. Definitely.
You'll need a grip head to attach that boom holder to the stand.
Pretty much any grip head will do - I'm pretty sure this is the one I use most of the time:

I already have some stands but I don't know if they will work, sorry for my noobliness I'm not great when it comes to these types of things. Here is the link to the stands I have (it was part of a green screen kit)

Will these work instead of the one you listed?

Why risk the liability of having a stand fall over outdoors on somebody or something if the wind picks up.
Get a real C-stand and a sandbag.
All the Best!

I have attached the setup I use when I don't have a boom operator. It can be seen on the right in the background. It is a C-stand with the holder mentioned earlier in this thread This works very well. Outdoors with some wind you will want to use some sand bags.

Agreed 100% - I only ever use the setup described earlier on interior shoots.
IF I were to setup the boompole outside then I woudl definitely suggest using a c-stand.
And regardless of whether it's in or out - I would always throw a sandbag on it.

It's hard to tell form the pics on that page - but my guess is no.
Those stands look like the ones on my backdrop stand as well - they are not standard light stands, they are made specifically to hold the pole that came with the kit.
You need something with a standard stud on the end that the grip head can be connected to.FOR SALE RIGHT NOW: Schneider 4x4 SE .6 ND Grad Filter, Genus Mattebox w/DSLR baseplate and accessories

What c stand would you recommend? and are there c stands that accept wheels? I'm looking for something at a low enough price, and yes I will be shooting outside so a c stand would be good.
