Hello good peeps. Recently picked up a GH2 - been a little suprised at times of the moire and alliasing issues. Either shooting exteriors/interiors. Initially I thought it was just on the lcd then projected the footage on my projector and sure enuf it's there. I know it would help if I posted the footage. But the ususual suspects of books in book case or brick walls, etc. Anyway.... My first post here. Thanks to everyone for being here![]()

Welcome aboard.
Try using smooth film mode with detail and noise reduction set to -2 should help.

Thanks Rig,
I will certainly try as you suggest.
Is this still a common problem with the camera - brick walls, book cases, those kinds of patterns?
I'm not a DP but a writer/director. So I'm essentially a newbee with the camera.
Thanks.

Its a fact that GH2s have moire and aliasing more than ordinary camcorders,it is also a fact E-T-C is not lossless, the GH2 is fairly good but not perfect, for its price it can not be that, for me leaving out 25P is the one big sin.

Can you post an example of the moire? I've yet to pick anything up with my GH2, and I've thrown alot of situations at it that a canon would choke on...

My testing with a very sharp lens showed that the GH13 (Blackout-Powell) had less moire and artifacts than the GH2. The GH2 had more haloing as well. But 3 feet from the TV a lot of that junk just blends in.

Haven't seen it yet, but I only got my gh2 yesterday. I've had it in literally every 550d (T2i) footage I shot and really got obsessed with it, so I wouldn't have missed it if it was there. From now on my biggest concern is banding - very ugly with GH2, not much you can do about it...
