    You'll obviously need to still monitor and record whatever comes off the sensor, not to mention a lot of other things, its designed to be detachable so it can be rearranged for 3D, steadicam work, vehicle mountings, etc. I'm guessing its designed to insure configurability of the camera with different setups that will be announced in the future. I mean it would be horribly cumbersome to make a 3D rig of the whole F65 if the sensor was not detachable.

    I don't know if I like the Sony 3D camcorders. Its always interlace 1080i or 24 frames per second. I like Panasonic 3D because it dual progressive 720p60 which makes a much better cinematic experience.
