Tons of improvements and great features. Some of which include:

* 24p/25p PAL support - Avid supports 24p and 25p PAL resolutions on Mac OS X and Windows XP. To capture with 24p, you need an Avid(R) Mojo(TM).
* Native Windows Media 9 export - This release supports exporting to Native Windows Media 9, including "up-res" to HD formats (XP only)
* Digi 002(R) and Command|8(TM) support - The Digi 002 and Command|8 can be used as control surfaces for your Avid editing system. They can also be used as controllers for automation gain recording.
* Digidesign(R) Pro Tools(R) support - Avid supports exporting sequences to Digidesign Pro Tools.
* DVCPRO 50 Edit - You can now edit (no capture) DV 50 material in Avid Xpress Pro.
* FluidFilm - The FluidFilm effect templates allow you to create a film look from interlaced video sources. The FluidFilm effect templates appear in the Timewarp category of the Effect Palette.
* J-K-L ratcheting - Allows you to slow down or change play direction one speed at a time.
* Keys tabs - The Keys tab in the Capture Settings dialog box allows you to specify a default duration for subclips created during capture and to customize the commands mapped to the function keys on your keyboard that are used during the capture process.
* MXF support between Avid, Digidesign & Softimage app- This release supports MXF file format. You can also now perform audio and video conversion between OMF and MXF formats.

Question regarding the "up-res" to HD . . . how does that work? What are the results like with 24P(a) footage? Is it comparable to Shortcut PhotoZoom Pro's algorithim for stills?

I have been very pleased with the uprez quality in WM9. I use 720 x 1280 and working with 24p native timeline looks great.

so how do i go about getting the 4.5 when i just bought the 4.3 less than a wk ago.

i bought the xpress pro 4.3 upgraded version and in all the stuff i got also came a card and code telling to go to avid.com and download the updater dongle i did but i dont have internet on my computer so i was unable to do it. how else can i do it. although in program i saw an icon that said dongle updater and i clicked on it and it said it was updated was that the same thing avid wanted me to do will it give me the 4.5 version.

Find a computer with a broadband internet connection. Download all necessarey dongle files. Then download Avid Xpress Pro v4.5.1 and then burn it to a CD-R. Bring the CD-R to your computer and install everything.

I downloaded the 4.5 but how do i know the 4.5 is running cuz when i turn on the computer it still says 4.3 at startup.
