Man I wish the F3 was a little cheaper I really like what I've seen from it, but it is WAY beyond my budget. I had 2 questions. Are you able to easily use all ISO settings or does Sony use a method similar to Panasonic where you have to pick 3 and put them on a toggle? Second, how is the focusing? Does it have a zoom to focus or any of the other methods cameras use? Like the contrast detect?

Can't wait to see some of your shots.

Why I am so interesting in the F3 is that it's younger sibling which should be coming soon interests me.

    Thanks!

I guess the biggest problem with the internet is that Jokes are Sarcasm are hard to read.

it was a joking subtext, but I love that a moderator thinks this is such a big deal.

And for the record if I want to use a phrase I'll use it.

The issue is that people do misinterpret sarcasm. There has been a long-standing recommendation here that you should use the right tool for the job and that one tool might be better-suited to some work than another. The tool-to-end-all-tools discussions don't do anything but incite rancor on the forum.

you pre set the L, M, and H on your gain with what "db" you want in the menu. it's a 2 step menu queue up. you get set your L M H to be

    -3 db
    0 db
    +6
    +9
    +12
    +18

    which =

    280 iso
    400
    800
    1100
    1600
    3200

althought that feels a bit pro sumer to be limited to ur switch and have to jump into menus to change your presets, i feel like it's no slower than a RED. and it is a bit limiting to not be able to dial in more incremental ISO's, but I think they primed the sensor to work best at these ISO's and didn't wanna bother putting anything else that wouldn't be any good. what's the point in being able to dial in 640 ISO if it looks worse than 800, and 400? i can see the sentimentalities of that.

I did not get the sony lenses. I bought Cooke iPanchros. I imagine the sony lenses are ok. But just that. Considering the price.

Hah! I wish it were more expensive, but had more features. Built in 50mb 422 codec would have been nice as it will play nice with stock footage companies and BBC.

A better sxs compartment door. (Really ? That's where they cheaped out)

I'm not bothered by this - they gave us a native mount that's really shallow, allowing for virtually any lens type to be used with the correct adapter. Personally, I already own Zeiss ZF primes, so I'm saving by leveraging that. And to my testing, the PL mount adapter seems pretty darn tough. It's not going anywhere.

Congrats on your new camera Timur. Nice looking rig with that Cooke riding the nose.
    Looking forward to some samples.

The camera is 13,300. But it comes with nothing but a strap, a microphone (?) And a remote. No batteries, no charger. That's seperate.
