This is very strange and I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem. Sometimes when I hit the record button, the record button blinks, but doesn't record right away, then it finally does. Sometimes this can take as long as 15 to 20 seconds to finally start recording.
Another thing that will happen sometimes is that it will be in the pause mode, and it will start recycling on the heads. In other words, you can hear and feel it rewinding and then going back to the start point.
It doesn't appear to effect the capture of material onto tape, but it is starting to bug me because sometimes I end up missing something at an event where I having to turn the camera from pause to record in an instant.
I have had simular situations with my PD150's, but never quite this long to record.
Any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.
I have 133 hours on the meter.
thanks,
eric

Does this problem occur when you've been in Record/Pause for an extended period of time. Sounds like the tape has been in pause so long the camera shuts the heads off and it takes a bit for them to come back up to speed when you hit the record button.

Good question. I'm not sure I have an accurate answer for you. As an example, if I'm shooting an event (like a wedding or reception) I usually only shut down my camera one or two times during an 6 to 8 hour period because you always have to be ready to record at a moments notice.
I never remember this thing happening to me in the past. My DVX100 doesn't appear to do this. Only my 100A, and that only recently.
