Hey guys,
For those of you that feel like your camera isn't exactly working right: What color is your camera? Not that it makes a difference but just for my own curiosity.

Yeah, that's my front yard. Roei, I would urge you to send your GH2 back. Not sure where you got it. That's what I would do and did. I'm almost positive that there are some funky GH2 cameras floating around. Unless I've completely looked over something stupid, there is no other explanation. Hopefully we can put an end to this thread and everyone can get a decent working camera. If you think your GH2 looks weird make sure you act quickly and I would buy from a place that is easy to return to. I would be skeptical purchasing used units for a while and I've seen a few. I think there's one on Amazon now.
Once, again thanks to everyone for their help and suggestions. Good luck to all of you.

unfortunately i don't have the option of sending mine back- as i ordered it from Japan..
nevertheless i do notice a strange 'error' on each of your samples each time you stopped recording.. like a video 'glitch' on the lower part of the shot..
also, your lens automation seem to behave rather strange.

did anyone bother to watch the files Rigby shot ?
1/125 http://www.mediafire.com/?v6qs6p30si1ljb1
1/60 http://www.mediafire.com/?vtearnho9i1i9v2
1/50 http://www.mediafire.com/?21ffrfxp1g3lld2
1/40 http://www.mediafire.com/?ddqizwe0cm261w2
i watched them carefully last night and i think the 24p motion is generally ok. not as bad as it sounds.
however i really need some more input and professional opinion on this.
thanks

Roei,
You think he 24p is ok? Really? It's unusable and actually could make people feel ill. That's not ok. Luckily, I'm pretty sure my camera was messed up. I'm going to buy another gh2 and I'll get back to this thread with results.

Hey how can you do this? I have a 60hz LG monitor and while my 24p GH13 files and blu-rays look great I bet they would look even better and NEVER tear if i was at 48hz. How do you do it? I have an ati hd 4870 x2 but I can't see a way to custom set the hz.. it has a 24hz mode but my monitor doesn't support it.

hey Blackout, glad you're awake and reading this...
no, the 48Hz will be possible only if your monitor supports it. so no deal.
now pleeeaaasssee download those 24p strobic files and tell me what you think !
you watch 24p MTS files with media player and the 60Hz extra strobe looks fine?
so take a look at hose samples and compare them to your 24p motion..

I have already chimed in on this. The GH2 looks like it has a higher shutter speed to my eyes. It does look stoby-er if that's even a word. I shoot with a 50 shutter outdoors and a 60 or 30 shutter indoors on the GH13 and it looks FAR smoother than the footage I am seeing here. I am playing it back in windows 7 media player which has an excellent avchd codec player.
Damn now I have to get a new monitor. I want a RGB LED one that supports all the custom refresh rates as well as has a SWIVEL mount so it can be used in portrait mode too. Portrait mode is EXCELLENT for web browsing and design and for making custom videos for clients who want a 9:16 ratio. Basically you shoot everything with the camera sideways. You see it all over stores like best by where that use portrait mode to show more if a person standing straight up in a shot. Yet... I am having a hard time finding a monitor with a swivel mount that supports portrait mode AND multiple refresh rates so you can easily do it rather than hackneyed doing it.
Any suggestions?
