I'm trying to render out a 4k file that I can hand off to a client for a digital signage solution, but am having trouble rendering a presentation format (.mp4,wmv...) from Vegas Pro 9 at a resolution of 4096x1824. The codecs seem to top out at 2k (2048).

I can render out frames and I'm okay with that, but I need to know what the best route is going to be for creating a playable file for their displays.

I'm thinking of getting a FCP system just for rendering out to ProRes, I think I can create 4k files with that. Not the smallest files in the world but all they need is quicktime installed and a fast enough hard drive to play them.

any thoughts or suggestions would be great.

    Thanks

I think I just figured it out. Uncompressed output. then into ripbot and out comes a good looking 4k file.
