zooms will always have a little more CA than primes, that's just the nature of the beast of lenses.

The original review pointed out the CXX had a slightly less 'flat-field' perspective. Probably also why it has more aberration than the primes? I bet so.

What do you think? Take a look at the 'Arri' hat, and you'll see the same results.
I agree, thanks for looking deeper into it Ryan.

I don't know if it's a focus issue but for some reason the S4/i lenses seem to be slightly sharper to my eye. Thoughts Ryan?

    probably focus.

The point being this. The Panchros are essentially a set of S4's permanently stuck at F2.8. Tack sharp wide open, and color matched. Jsut 1/3 the cost for a full set.

I didn't necessarily do the test specifically to compare sharpness. From what I remember they were about identical. At certain times I swear the Panchro/i lenses were sharper... at other times the S4/i's but this is with a 4k file enlarged about 800%. You would not notice a difference in 1080, I know that. I'll go back and look again. To do things correctly, we really should use proper charts.

Anyone looking for the images linked in the article... they were temporarily taken down when I revamped my website and hosting... they will be back by this time tomorrow.
