THE SHORT FILM THAT STARTED IT ALL: (ALL NEW FESTIVAL CUT!)

    DETAILS ON THE FEATURE:

Welp. Here it is. I'll try to update this as much as I can, but it's pretty much Matt and I's life right now. At the least, it accounts for about 7 hours of phone conversation a week.

    Here's what we know:

    • We will shoot on RED.
    • We will begin principle photography sometime this year.
    • The first location is Daniel's workshop, which we are building now from scratch.
    • I have no idea when we will finish.
    • The film will be financed by Matt and I with hopefully small fundraisers along the way.
    • 'To make money/get distribution' is not the primary goal of this film.

Here's one more for luck. It's definitely one of the best dvxfest shorts and definitely deserves a feature. Get on it!

Thanks for all the encouragement guys. Right now, we're a 2 man wolfpack (well, Tim's back too, so maybe 3) but I plan on judiciously using the knowledge and advice of DVXusers along the way.

here's a quick snippet: Bought our first pieces of set design last week. Due to the dumb snowstorm passing through the Carolinas, probably wont be able to pick them up for a couple days, but I bought 46 old computer towers for the bargain price of $175. These will be dismantled, routed, dremel-tooled, painted, etc. to be incorporated into the set. We plant to spend about 3x the budget of the ENTIRE short on just the set design for one location. Talking to a concept artist as well to fuel/improve Matt and I's ideas for mise-en-scene.
