I'm in a debate with myself about it. I can probably cut entire scenes, speed up the pace and lose a story strand, but Im feeling loathed to do it as it'll become something different. Just not gonna be any fun being out of competition :-(

Tomorrow I may have a bash at what a 6 min version would look like, but my gut is telling me I wont like it.

Just uploaded "The Writer". It was tough getting it to 60mb and still maintain some kind of quality. Oh well. I'm going to release the longer version later this year.

Why not just enter it anyway? Nothing to loose & after the fest release the full version.

So my film is 5 1/2 minutes, and i've tried exporting it numerous different ways and the smallest i've gotten it down to is 61 mb....is that really going to disqualify me? I understand that if you start making exceptions for some people the "floodgates" might open, but i'm feeling very frustrated right now over 1 mb.

I would upload what you have and then work at getting it down to 60mb. As long as they get the finished movie from you they probably won't mind getting the 60mb version late if it takes you too long.

It's an easy fix though, no? Just drop your bitrate a tad.

I'm not a Mod though so best to ask one.
