Phew... Sorry it took so long... lot of threads and posts and such that needed updating

So, this is the new software. Please feel free to post up any bugs or any design issues, etc that you come across. But, be patient with me.

Things will continue to change, be tweaked, fine tuned, new functionality, etc. in the near future. Hopefully we'll all have time to adjust at a reasonable pace.

The immediate next steps will be forum re-structuring. Also, probably tomorrow, I'll set up the facebook connect feature.

There is still one additional (time consuming) task that needs to be performed in the back-end. And, it cannot be done while the site is live. I will have to shut down the forum again in the next night or so to perform this task. Just a heads up...

We've got other stuff planned, but we'll talk more about it as we are closer to rolling them out.

    --

Thanks for your patience and post all your questions, concerns, issues, etc, regarding the forum upgrade, here in this thread.

I will also update this thread as needed over the short-term.

Check it out... get a feel for things and let me know what you think. Please consider the site to be in a BETA state (meaning work in progress). So, your feedback is welcomed.

    Later,
    Jason

    bump for sending site live...

NOTE: The backend is still currently building the search index. As a result things may be a bit slow. If things get too bogged down, I'll have to turn the board back off to let it complete.

As of this typing it is currently 1.69 million of the way there out of an estimated 2.25 million.

also, I'd ask that where possible you please limit your use of the search and new posts features for the time being until the indexing is complete to help minimize the load on the server....

so on the forum main page, you will see there is a collapsable side bar... if you guys let me know what kinds of stuff you would like there (there are plenty of options) i'll see about incorporating it..

Looking for it to be meant for those who want easy browsing of specific topics, etc.. that sort of thing... as opposed to just showing recent posts of the forum, which would be redundant..

anyways, just let me know your ideas, and I'll see what I can do...

and, if you hate the sidebar, you can always collapse it and it will remember your settings

If the bar collapses, I think most of the mods are going to leave...

    Looking great Jason!

    - Mikko ... is getting used to the new control layout, and hoping he doesn't accidentally ban everyone in the process.

Looks good Jason. Is it just me or is the YouTube embed feature not working now? Vimeo seems to be okay. Firefox 3.6.10. Just tried, and the same problem in IE 8 - you hit "I AGREE" and nothing happens.

I've tested embedding with ie, chrome, and firefox and all work fine...

You dont' need to use the old way of doing it anymore (though previous postings made that way, should still show)..

Just use the little filmstrip icon in the editor box and enter the full url of the video from one of the compatible sites listed (vimeo, youtube, hulu, etc)

oh, and if nothing happens, when you hit agree (on the old custom bbcode youtube embedding) it is mroe likely that it is the result of someone improperly posting the video id in the yotube bb tags... try another youtube video on the site...

Not just you, youtube embeds don't work, but vimeo do. Why would people post to youtube anyway ?

Video I was checking is http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread...Pinup-Workshop
