hi, finally updating my old g4 powerbook .
looking at the 17 inch macbook and wondering which specification would be best for final cut 6 and editing multicam concerts shot with various combinations of ex1,s canon 7D z1,s etc and onto dvd.
I have found the 17inch macbook I5 253 ghz 5400 drive for 1750 uk pounds would this be good enough? the alternative is through apple at 1899 and getting the upgrade to i7 266 ghz but this would then be 2060 pounds and with 7200 drive 2110
would the difference be worth that much extra money?
would i regret it or would the basic spec work fine for my work?
many thanks

Is there any specific reason you will be using your laptop to edit? Reason I ask is you can get a faster computer ( iMac , MacPro ) for less money and can perform better.

a lot of my work I tend to go to the client to edit, plus people are beginning to use ex1`s and I would be able to import on location and edit fast turnaround stuff to
