That's EXACTLY what I thought when they announced it. And, even omitting that detail, the fisheye is a lens to use for a very special effect, not an everyday lens, so I don't see much people adding it to their video lens set.

I hope they don't judge the necessity of a "Cinema Style" lens set on how well the 8mm T3.8 sells...

If they release the 35mm (14, 24 and 85mm too) "Cinema Style", it'll sell like hotcakes! Since those are regular lenses we'd use for any work.

Yeah, I saw that on dpreview when they first posted it. I would have posted that link, except while I love the 8mm, I'll pass on the 3.5. Too slow. Yes, I understand the challenge in making something small, wide, and fast with close focus, but 3.5 is really, really too slow.

Slow? You're kidding. It's APS-C lens. Not sure what camera you wanna use it with, but if it's APS-C then tell me what your faster alternatives are, because I don't know many. How fast can you go with this focal length? 2.8? It's just 1/2 stop faster (or maybe 2/3) - definitely not enough to justify saying that it's "really, really too slow".

I believe on their facebook page... a 24, 35 & 85 are coming in Sept.... many people have requested the 50 & 100 or a 135... I read Matt Duclos write up on the 14... says for the money its a good lens...
