I had a chance to play with SONY HD today in B&H store in NYC. I liked 16:9 lcd and all of this stuff...

Anyone actually shot someting on this cam? Any comp with dvx 100?

My first short got into 20 FFestivals in Europe! And won two of them! Even got my first distribution deal Now I am shooting for Current TV and preparing for my feaure debut.
Filmmaking is nice like Borat would say

I have owned a FX1 since the day it came out and it is a stunning piece of kit.
There are many on this particular forum who think you will come down with the plague by even handling it.
I also have a DVX and that's a good camera as well. At the end of the day you have to ask yourself what you want to use the camera for. The FX1 does not have P24, but do you need it? If not then the FX1 is the one to go for because it just blows the opposition away with its HD image, and is excellent in SD.
The downside is that at the moment, the software is really not available to edit it very easily and send it back to tape. Lumierehd.com are almost there with their plugin for the mac, and Ulead have now got a plugin for the PC, though by accounts there have been a few teething probs which are being ironed out.

Both cameras are excellent, but since I have purchased the FX1, I haven't touched the DVX.
    Just my opinion.
