About 400 hours on the heads, but cleaned regularly and always used new tapes. Never used in bad weather and always stored in the case. There should be no reason these heads don't go to 1200-1600 hours.

The democratization of filmmaking took a giant leap forward when Panasonic developed the revolutionary DVX100 and now the DVX100A. Featuring CineSwitch™ technology, the DVX100A was and is, the only DV camera with the ability to switch frame rates from 24p, to 30p and 60i. Even further enhancing the film-like look, the DVX100 utilizes a true progressive scan imager, further enabling filmmakers to use digital video as a medium for expressing their cinematic vision.
And while DV Cinema starts with the camera, it doesn?t end there. Panasonic has developed a complete line of DV Cinema products. From DV VTRs with fast FireWire input/output, to digital video projectors that faithfully create the cinematic experience.
I've gotten some good use out of mine about 380 hours and am looking to upgrade to the HMC150
Some example of video that was shot and edited using it.
