ok...so I watching Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back....and at the end credits it says Directed By: Irvin Kershner...wtf? am I missing something I've never noticed this before, but I thought George Lucus directed all of the star wars..what going on? Now that I think of it I think I remember someone telling me way back that lucus didn't in fact driected it but only produced it or whatever I dunno..I'm confused.

Irvin Kirschner directed Empire. Jedi was directed by Richard Marquand.

And yes, you apparently "missed" something . . . ;)

This changes my whole perspective of Lucas. I mean I used to respect him as a director but now I don't know. why is he getting so much credit for those two movies....I can't believe this....this is like finding out your adopted or something...your whole life changes.. ???

Yes, it is very cool that the first Star Wars films kicked major bookoo ass (well, until the Ewoks in Jedi) but I often wonder what George gets all the props for myself:

The man has officially directed 17 Films according to imdb.com and this since 1965. (They even count stuff he did while in school along with THX)

I love George for:

THX 1138 (1971)
American Graffiti (1973)
Star Wars (1977)

He does indeed have alot of props for these 3 films. Must be the money. Now he has been associated with hundreds of other projects but come now....
