Learning experience shorts

A couple of shorts I did a few years ago with my DVX. I made a lot of mistakes while doing these and learned from them. I'm now planning on doing my first feature with an HD camera. I will post clips from it when it is completed. Any constructive criticism is welcome.

First feature....

I think it's better to start with a first real short....

Get students as crew...or people who just graduated....they will be glad to help you.... for free yes (if you pay them food and travelexpences). But don't profit of them...

Then later ask them again for possible payed jobs.

These were students as crew. As I said these were learning experiences, both of them. The one thing I took from both of these shorts was the necessity of good sound. I will never shoot anything without a quality sound guy again.
The reason I posted them has to do with me looking for recommendations to improve the quality of the material. Is the adapter I'm using good enough? How about the lighting? Is the subject matter interesting?
