    Hooray!!
F-I-N-A-L-L-Y I get to experience the issue of losing all my footage on a CF card due to a faulty pin on our card reader, and of course it had to be a flashback sequence in a music vid that was brilliantly improv'd by two out of town actors...so yeah thats gone now....or is it??
This particular sequence was shot on an 8 gb Sandisk Extreme III and a local store couldn't even get the .mov's off my card with their software....only tiffs. That kinda got me a little pissed, so I decided to try and use the RescuePro software that comes with the cards, and managed to find the files, but can't play them....AND they're listed as mpegs???? I'm shooting on a 7D.
Anyone have a clue as to what's happening here? Feeling like an idiot. Any idea how to get these files opened?

    or....am I pooched??

Thanx in advance for any responses.

I've found that when I used recovery software in the past, the extension of the file either vanished or got changed. You might try clicking on the name of the file and changing it from .mpeg to .mov and then see if QT player can open them up.

    Good luck
