I have a DVD portable player that isn't working when I plug it in. Is there anything else I can do with it to make it a Monitor for me? It has a video in plug.

I used a philips 7" dual screen car seat screen. Used the slave screen, as it's just a screen... however philips thought they were slick and rewired the 3.5mm plug so a standard RCA to 3.5mm wouldn't work(audio only) but because I'm a modern day macgyver, I discovered that they are sending the video signal through the red audio cable(you just have to cut the cable and flip the wires(reversing the polarity) and voila'!! video signal. Then a $45 universal battery with button switchable voltage(5.5, 9 and 12) I have a field monitor for my camera all for under $150(if you buy the dvd player off amazon)
