I just read on another board that one of the reasons the BBC didn't start using the DVX-100 was because it is one frame out of sync. While looking at my 24p footage on FCP yesterday evening, I realized this is true. I have kickboxers hitting pads, and the audio hit would occur 1-1.5 frames before the hit itself. Does everyone have this problem? I guess the DVX-100a fixes this problem, huh?

i think that it was solved in 100a , so there no actual problem
the most frostraiting is the audio dellay in rec mode in headphones and audio aot since the tte audio flow is a2d2a :-(

I have a PAL DVX100.
I have read about the audio delay of NTSC machines but with the footage i have shot so far i cannot determine if there is a delay or not.
The explanations i have read indicate that the complex processing of the 24p format are the problem.
The PAL camera only has 50i and 25p without the complex processing off chip.
Does the PAL 100 have the same problem?

If it's the original DVX100, I'd expect that it would probably have a 1-frame delay. 1 frame is insignficant enough that it would be difficult to tell.

i agree; i just shot a short film on the 100a and my sound/boom guy, who had never worked with this camera before, was really annoyed at the delay. we had no mixer, so he was monitoring off the camera. is there no way to be able to monitor in real time straight from the camera? this is crucial for a boom op so that he can follow dialogue.

the only solution i see to deal with that problem is to use better isolation headphones to eliminate the sound from outside penitrate and mixed with the camera output
all other solutions are exepncive ,modify the camera out in rec mode or find some dv out *convertor -splitter to do it faster then the camera electronics
for good isolation headphones look for remote audio 7506 or Senheiser
hd-25 (thos are the best imo for field work in any condition)
another thing to work without mixer is not the right way
in regular work the sound continies level chenging so you have to ajust the levels -its almos inposible to do it on the camera

making one chanel mike amp with mitter and headphones out which can be placed on the boom
