Hi everyone, i was just wondering whether some of you more experienced people could give me recommendations concerning books on production audio for the intermediate/advanced crown, esp. in regards to video production.
Thanks in advance
Jean

Barry i am on my way to get the books from Amazon. Now would you recommend the lighting manual also by Jay? They are giving me a combo for 50 bucks sound and lighting. I am highly considering it. How easy is it to navigate through these books? Is there a lot of "in too deep" material not needed for sound production? For example what electrons make up higher frequencies of sound.(jesus christ what sense does that make, you get the idea though...) Not majoring in lab science here. I do need a detailed precise information without the extra blah. Hope that makes some general sense.

If you're talking about Lighting for Digital Video & Television by John Jackman--it's an excellent book as well. Jay Rose is a great teacher and knows how to write in very clear and understandable style. Even if you're a technophobe, his books are appropriate. He lays out some basic concepts and gets to the point with good practical information.

I am not a technophobe, i really like to know the origins of info that is given but i am also not a scientist. Book by Dale Brown called Theory and practice for Cinematography is about as detailed as i like it. Thanks for help!
