I ma trying to record audio with the built in mic and I have follow the instructions in the camera manual I have done everything that they say and after I pressed the audio dub bottom nothing happends and and it shows that there is no tape in the camera. and thre is a tape in there.
the manual says that I am suppose to be in VCR mode to use the audio dub am I right or wrong can anyone help.

The MANUAL mentions:
Editing-related problems
Q1: No audio dubbing.
A1-1: Has the accidental erasure prevention
knob on the cassette tape been set to
“SAVE?” If it has, recording cannot be
performed. (See page 23)
A1-2: Has an attempt been made to edit parts
shot in the LP mode? Audio dubbing
cannot be performed as the track width on
the tape is narrower than the head width
in the LP mode.

did your original recording
12bit or 16 , if it 16 you cannot dub

..i have to ask why you want to dub on the tape to begin with.. why not record into your NLE or audio app in post with full 16 or 24 bit quality?
