Just because I've been super curious, and had an hour to kill, I decided to do a comparison between my 5D Mark II and my GH1 with the new AVCHD codec hack. These images below are 100% crops from 1080p24 material.
GH1 w/ Lumix 7-14mm f4 shot @ 14mm, f/11, 1/80
5D mark II w/ 24-105mm f4 L shot @ 24mm, f/11, 1/80 (levels boosted in post because it was way darker than GH1 shot)

GH1 w/ Canon FD 50mm f1.8 shot @ 50mm, f/4, ???? (forgot shutter speed for these)
5D mark II w/ 24-105mm f4 L shot @ approx 90mm, f/4, ????
I'm really amazed in this one at how much moire there is all over the frame in the 5D shot vs the GH1 - the more I look at it, the more I find! ~note to self: stop pixel peeping...

Uh-oh...I'm leaning towards buying a lumix 7-14mm instead of a 7D....

That would be absolutely fantastic. It would make the GH1 an awesome little beast at last. So far an incredible job by tester13 and all the brave testers out there. Thanks a ton.I would greatly appreciate a Photo JPEG @ 1080/24 along with my AVC-HD @ 1080/24pN.

Thanks for the stills comparison, Cowpunk.
Of course we'd have to consider, focal length, lens performance and all of that other junk. Regardless, those stills show some out of the box goodness.
Speaking of out of the box...

I was half-a-hair off of getting a 5D again... That would be the only thing to push me to Canon territory at this point, the Full Frame sensor.
I'm thinking the same as you: about to purchase a PL mount and gonna roll with an 11-16/2.8 Tokina or a 7-14mm Vario real soon.
So happy to have this little beast back in my hands again.CAMP COMET : FILMMAKERS BLOG | SUPERSEEDS FEATURE FILM (DVXUSER BLOG)

I missed this earlier in the running river of posts. Barry what setting did I send you that didn't do this?
. So the new is doin that. I saw this, however chalked it up to sensor. Now looking back at other settings test,it's absent. I need to re-run the numbers and test.

The return of the prodigal son. I just saw a fatted calf looking very, very nervous.>
Guess who just rejoined the GH1 family?
(Glad to see you back, of course!)
