    That was really good! What program did you use to get the actors to look holographic?

    Thanks man! I'm making a breakdown of a couple effect shots in this, I'll get that up at some point. And you're not the only one that said Hancock! I heard that and Book of Eli from other people. All coincidence though!

    Believe it or not, all the aerial shots are the real deal, even the fog. Was hanging out of a helicopter in mid December to get those, man it was cold. The only thing added in post were the little ships and some buildings on fire.

    The only somewhat "3D" used was the 360 spin around towards the end. Filmed the artist standing on a turntable in front of a greenscreen and stitched together a full panorama in photoshop from a series of pictures on the actual location. Then I synced up the movement of the 3D panorama to the artist spinning around. The reflection of in the glasses is a mirrored image of the opposite side of the panorama as the shot turns. And yes it was really really hard!

    The reflections in the glasses in the beginning are untouched. We just used a long lens so you couldn't see much of us. If you look hard you can kinda see two cameras set up in the very middle, but you can't really notice it.

    Obviously, the interior of the cockpit was shot on greenscreen. Here's something for you though. I actually had a working airflow system going into the helmet and circulating air. Without it the inside would fog up anytime he opened his mouth!

    I probably spent about 2000 hours on post including the edit and all the effects.

    Ok now for some real critiques. First and foremost the song is really not good. The autotune on the vocals is the first killer, second the production on the track is not very good either and finally the song is way to long. Most hit songs are under 4 minutes, at 4:40 it's way to long.

    Now onto the video, the effects were a bit overkill. The best scene I actually liked was the second verse which looked really good. The first scene on the bridge was great but it just dragged way too long. One thing that never works is when people create 3 scenes and use them specifically for each verse.

    1st verse = Bridge Scene
    2nd = Bedroom/ indoor location
    3rd = Super Space Craft scene

    If someone does not like your song right away they would never get to see the 2nd scene or the last scene. Instead if I were editing the video I would have established all scenes from the beginning so they could all be used somehow. Or at least two scenes and not just one.

    The watermark of your website while not really distracting I also think it takes away from your video.

    Overall though the effects look really good, but for this music video it really doesn't work , kind of cheesy IMO. I think you are a better motion graphic designer than you are a Director/Editor. Personally the project looks professional but the song is not very good and the over the top graphics is something that people cannot relate too.

    In order for this song to work I would shorten it by a Minute and if you were to do Motion Graphics I would go for a more realistic look and please tell the artist to get rid of the Auto Tune.
    Vision without action is just a dream. Action without vision is a nightmare. Put your vision into motion.....

    but each one of us has its own way , and the end what pleases the viewer its more important then evrything
