So i'm falling into a nice tax return and i'm considering getting a new laptop, so that means i'd have to sell my old one! hence the point of this feeler thread.

I've had this laptop since january 2007. Since then, the whole top plate and keyboard has been replaced (jan 2009) and the hard drive has been replaced once (march 2009). Since the hard drive crashed i have been treating this computer like my baby, before then (2007-2008) it suffered some small dents on the outside of the body, purely cosmetic and don't cause any problem with the computer except the PCI express port is bent and i'm not sure if it works because i haven't tried to bend the metal back and test it since i never use it. Other than that, this computer is in great condition, runs great, runs FCP and AE like a champ, just as fast at the 1199 brand new mac book pros right now. Has stickers, can remove or leave whatever you want. If you want a great laptop without spending the cheddar this is it.

I can provide pictures if you're very interested. 900 shipped obo.

if selling it doesn't work, i think Best Buy (maybe Apple too?) does a buyback program. You might not get $900, but you'll get some money.

You know that you can get a brand new macbook with the same specs for $100 more, right?

macbook, not macbook pro. The cheapest macbook pro is 1199, + tax which is roughly 1300, 400 more than mine.

I just bought a black macbook used for $550 off of craigslist. It has 2.4ghz C2D, 320GB HDD, 4GB ram, two power charges, 2 remotes, 2 batteries and all original packaging. The machine is in pristine condition. The kid just wanted to get rid of it. Minus the dedicated graphics and ability to run a 7200RPM HDD, it's better than your spec wise. The cheapest Macbook Pro now can be had for $1099 if you qualify for educational pricing, which a lot of people do or know someone who does. I'm not trying to be rude at all, but I think $900 is a little steep for your machine.
