More importantly.... did your iPad fit the bill? Was it everything you needed? Did you ever wish you had a laptop with you? Must have been great on the plane.

...and thanks for the great report! I know everyone is saying there were more people there this year, but a few friends I have who work the show said it was really slow again?
The pictures & video I've seen seem to verify that. This is the first year I've missed the show in over 10 years...back in the day, you could bearly walk down the aisles it was so packed.

Ah, the iPad. The short answer is…it did everything I needed, though perhaps not everything I might have wanted. The long answer will be coming in a full review to be posted soon, from a real road warrior's perspective. But I will say that everyone who looked at my reel and sample work remarked about how great it looked. I can only assume they were talking about my work and not the screen.

My favorite moment of the show had to have been when I found out that GoPro was selling HD Hero cameras for $100 off the regular price. The scene at the NAB store was like the ice cream man driving through a neighborhood full of fat kids. It was insanity. And I bought four of them.

Ok, big question...What did Avid have new for Protools? (I'm a sound guy by nature!!!!) I've got the Digi 002 Black Lion Audio "Tweak Head" Setup, and I love protools 8, sold all of our keyboards once it came out!!!

    WOW

Are these immediately available? What container/codec do they record to?

    Fantastic!

I'm pretty sure it's some flavor of AVCHD, but I'll have to charge mine up and test it out to be sure.

And yes, you can get them now from the online GoPro store.

Finally found info. It's a motionJPEG in AVI container.
