Here is a two and a half minute short shot on super 16 for my narrative film class. Any comments and criticisms welcome, as well as any production questions.
Thanks

Nicely done. Gotta love film, and it looks really clean for 16mm.
I thought the very beginning of the 1st shot was a strange composition, before he entered frame. It seemed like throw-away footage. I would consider starting with one or more of the ECU's before cutting to his CU. Just a thought.
The rest was clear, story-wise, and intriguing. Nice use of score. Good sound design.
I'm guessing this is one of those, "tell a story in 2 min without dialog" assignments, and to that I'd say job well done.

Very nice. I love the SR2 and color negative film. My only critique is the opening shot as noted above. It is a straight cut in to the top of the door. It is disconcerting, to me. I would trim the head of that shot and bring it in with the actor coming in to frame. Other than that, great job.

What narrative film class are you taking? I'm in Austin as well, just curious.

Thanks for the comments. I have gotten similar notes from my professor about that opening shot. I'll get around to fixing it one of these days.
Drew, I am in Nancy Shiesari's Narrative Film class in the RTF department at UT. In the class we shoot two projects on 16mm, this was my first. The second I just got back from the lab and will start editing soon.

And the acting was excellent. His expressions say it all.
