Jason, regarding teaser trailers. What you are saying is, no motion footage whatsoever unless it's BTS. Other than BTS we can make a teaser trailer with just photos, correct?
Example: I'm doing some greenscreen tests with my actors. The footage will not be in the final movie, it's test footy only. But I cannot use this footy in a teaser trailer right?

Defcon... Correct... I don't really know why that's there to be honest about allowing teasers... seems like a holdover... maybe that was a compromise or something

The following sums up the reason why we try to avoid the idea of trailers, teasers, etc:
Actually going to remove the teaser thing. just silly... "you can make a teaser, but you can only use non-moving images!"NO fictional elements that encompass or extend the narrative of your film are permitted
Don't want people running around and making any trailers they want, b/c the danger of folks extending the narrative of their film beyond 6 minutes can come in. but, we tried the promo thing this last fest, and with some advance planning, I think that can be a beneficial thing to all of the entrants.
How about, we replace it with something like the following:
You may submit 3-5 seconds of footage from your film, if you would like it to be included in one, or a series of, promotional videos for the current fest.

Thats great and all, but I think you have to take it out and actually expose it (preferably using a camera) at some point in order to qualify. My film is already in the can.
Please feel free to leave the lens cap on and compensate with a killer score . . .
