Actually, a sticky titled something like "Settings I use, and why." would be very helpful and could be fun, too.

A bit confused here. Does FHD 1080 in the PAL version requires the removal of pulldown in post? I have the impression that this is a clean 1080p 25fps and the SH - 720p is 50fps.

No pulldown removal required for PAL as it's 25p in a 50i stream. I just output to 25 fps when transcoding. I should added one more thing there like this

Be aware that shooting FHD with NTSC models requires the removal of pulldown in post, there are many other threads on this.

I'll modify the original post at some point, thanks Martti.

I think this would be good as a sticky... some people get the camera and would love a page like this to get going rather than the overwhelming feeling of searching for tidbits scattered haphazardly in the manual. Title it "general steps / guidelines for camera newbies to start shooting video with gh1"

Of course this is a general guide, learn your camera and season to taste, but this would help people starting out.

I might go through the original post and slim things down so it's more simple facts.

(set your camera to M exposure mode, etc.)

That or JDS or someone could rewrite this and sticky it.

My main reason for wanting this as a sticky is so people will stop going "how do I set shutter speed in video it won't let me." Because we get that a lot.

Or how about we do a new FAQ to replace the old temp one? Dividing it into prospective buyers and new owners might be helpful. Plus we could explain crop factor to the people that still don't get it.
