    Hey Davis, thanks for doing this. I should clarify though, I have not used the 28mm myself yet.

    I haven't heard anything bad about it though, and it seems to have good specs for the price. Also I think it covers FF35, right?

    Yes, its full frame and its canon's second fastest wide. The 24mm f1.4 is the fastest.

    28 is a great focal length. I shot this at f8 on a 28mm

    Best lenses for Canon EOS under around approx $600

    change sigma 50mm f/2.8 to the 1.4 version for about $500. Fantastic lens with FF coverage.

    ... and just had to add one more zoom and it is of course the Canon 16-35 2.8L

    I added it to post 3 because I've seen it in quite a few posts around on DVXuser.
    Also that glidecam skate vid with this lens is off the hook LINK

    I almost bought this lens used from (http://www.thephotocenter.com/used-equipment-canon.html) for $629.99. I went in there and played with the lens on the 7D. It's such a good lens. I ended up not buying it because of the aperature settings.
