I had been thinking about revisiting this story for quite sometime, but alot of things had to be in place even for me to think about doing it. I had to have a location (acres of land), props and wardrobe (expensive for a piece like this), actors, good weather conditions and time. In addition to that, I have been putting together pieces to get "The Jones'" feature going (hope to film in April), plus finishing a short I shot in January called, "The End," plus editing the finishing touches on two features (a documentary and a narrative). I think I got alot of friends. LOL.
Back to the story - So, everything came into place. The original feature was mainly shot in Chandler, Oklahoma at my friend Victor's place. I met him in 2000 and the very first time we met (I was location scouting), we talked for 2 hours and knew we would become the best of friends. He helped me produce my movie and we've been tight ever since.
My first feature took alot out of me. I was working fulltime and filming part-time. I exhausted all the money I had and to get everything shot and edited (I learned how to edit halfway through the editing process of this film and this was before the DVX100 and before I had my own equipment) took a year and a half. Anyway, we had a big, local movie premiere with the red carpet and everything and the whole process from start to finish was great and I met alot of good people that I will be loyal to for life. Sadly to say, however, a few of those good people have died within the past 5 years and this film, "Lawless" will be in memory of them:
Stephanie Read -- Victor's late wife was a fun-loving and gun-ho lady that was hands on and helped
produce my first film.
Mike Kerezman -- Mike was there everyday on the set (for free) and provided wardrobe, weapons,
advice, expertise and friendship.
S. Rick -- Was also on the set everyday (for free), was an excellent actor and provided
expertise.
We had high hopes for the film (Blockbuster at the time), but we didn't get quite get there (made it to a few retailers like Bestbuy), but it took me several years to recouperate financially. I was determined to do it better and smarter the next time and then came the influx of new technology and like many of you here, I jumped in and pieced together everything I would need to be more cost-effective and independent. So here I stand today, with the rest of you.
2/23/2010 - Shot everything. The shoot was riddled with chaos and disaster (vlog coming soon), but isn't it always? Went through the footage and it's looking good. Will have to do some reshooting though.

Thanks, guys. The deadline's approaching. I said I wouldn't enter again unless I had plenty of time to add polish, but because of the weather I had to get this one in where it could fit in. Because of the type of story, I think I will have more than enough time.
@ Chris Curl - Shot it yesterday and will do a reshoot hopefully Sat., but I'm sure it will still be a bit of a rush - but who needs sleep or food anyway?
@ Chris Keaton - Why are you trying to give the story away, KeATON??!!!
