Maybe you guys can provide some help with this. I just purchased a HMC150...(love it!) and in the box was the bundled Neo 2 software. After registering with PASS...I got the provided serial for Neo 2.5!
Of course this doesn't work with the install disk for Neo 2 that came with the HMC.
I have followed the instructions on the PASS site, and emailed Panasonic for the 1. install disk for Neo 2.5, AND serial # for Neo 2.
Absolutely NO response from Panasonic.
This is not the way to treat new customers, IMO.
Any ideas???
BTW...picked up Barry's HMC manual...big help to me, since this camera is a big step up for me. I shoot primarily theater productions, and have been using AVCHD since it first came out - so no stranger to me, but not this level of camera.

I do not know how Panasonic is handling the new upgrade to 2.5. I do know that it is not downloadable and that it is a complete install not just an upgrade on top of 2.0

Interesting. Didn't know there was a 2.5. I rooted around on the Grass Valley site and, as pjsssss said, I can't find any way to download a demo of 2.5. I would expect that would be the way to do it, download the 2.5 and then register with your e-mailed serial number, but that doesn't seem to be available right now.

Panasonic gives you the serial for 2.5 when you register on PASS -- I guess depending on when you purchased the HMC.
But of course, that does no good to me, since they bundled the 2.0 install disc with the camera!!!

I tried that route with the demo, but the serial doesn't work, since the demo is just the demo, and the serial is for the full version, with a different install.

I've asked my contacts at Grass Valley for clarification. Unfortunately I received an "out of the office" auto-respond, so I probably won't hear back before Monday.

Thanks Barry, appreciate the help. Panasonic says on their website that all issues with Edius should go through them, so I didn't bother with contacting Grass Valley. Just for clarification...the panasonic site shows 2.5 as Edius with booster.

Here's the info. from Panasonic: https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pro...y_e/index.html
The Edius Neo 2.5 demo link doesn't seem to be working, guess we'll have to wait till Barry hears back. I'm trying to find information on upgrading from 2.0 to 2.5 myself.

So... try installing from the CD as a Neo2 demo (not registering it) and then download and install the booster pack, and THEN try your 2.5 serial number?

I will try that...imaging my HDD now before I muck it up.
Any issues with Sony Vegas 9.0c and Edius on the same machine?

I don't have Vegas 9, but I've got Vegas 8, Premiere Pro CS4, and EDIUS 5 Pro all installed simultaneously, no problem.
I tried to install my free copy of Neo 2 but you can't have EDIUS and Neo installed on the same system, for some reason.

Panasonic and Edius Neo 2.5...Help!
