Justin, I asked about this during the first round and I think some members frowned upon receiving such an email. Some mistook it for spam I think.

Here's Jason's response.

every time I do this, we get reported to spam police (even though we are only sending to people who have chosen to accept emails from administrators), and lots of angry emails and such...

So, it becomes a bit of a burden, and a risk I'm not sure has the payoff. Doesn't matter if you put it big bold ALL CAPS "YOU ARE RECEIVING THIS BECAUSE YOU HAVE ELECTED TO RECEIVE EMAILS FROM ADMINISTRATORS OF DVXUSER". People don't read. they just react sometimes

That said, I may look into trimming down who gets the email to just folks who have been active in the last several months and are eligible to rate and give it one more shot to see if it helps trim out the haters a bit.

This banner is old news. Something fresh but with the same branding.
