When I am playing back clips through the composite output, is there a setting that adds the clip name to the super ? I can get time code showing, and that somewhat helps, but when I've got a whole card worth playing out, it would help to have a 'CLIP0001.MTS' or something on the screen.

This may not help you in the slightest, but if you go buy a WD-TV (a $99 USB -> HDTV media player) you can plug in your SDHC card with an adapter and it will play each clip in order with an OSD on each clip with the clip name I'm pretty sure.
If you're in more of a studio environment this is probably the way to go since it doesn't tie up your camera and it's really a great investment on it's own (very reliable HD playback, doesn't skip like a laptop can, fairly portable).
That said, I have no idea if you can show clip name on-camera (I've wanted it, too)--Allen Ellis
