What is the workflow for editing GH1 footage in Final Cut Pro shot in the Motion JPEG format?
Do you need to log and transfer?
Should you keep it as Motion JPEG or convert to ProRes?

Just drag the files in from Finder. Drop one of them on the timeline and answer 'yes' to the question of changing it to match the clip settings.

Hey guys...is there any reason to convert motion-jpeg (avi) files to ProRes?
I'm kind of salivating over the new Pentax K-x (just google it) and it looks to be a pretty kick ass 720p DSLR for about $650. The only rub is it shoot Motion Jpeg AVI. Is this the same motion-jpeg format of the GH1?
Also, is motion-jpeg considered Long GOP or Short GOP?Last edited by justin_j_nyc; 10-02-2009 at 01:49 PM. Reason: forgot to include additional question
