Would this be a good all around lens? If you had to get by with just one lens?

The link doesn't work for me, but I'm looking to get the Canon EF 24-105 f/4 L.

Great lens, but keep in mind the 1.6x crop factor, that 16mm end becomes a 26mm semi-wide.

If you're not hung up on getting strictly canon gear, I highly recommend Tokina

It's built for the DX cameras, so 16mm is really still 16mm

    - link dont work

    16mm is 16mm is 16mm

that is very wide on a FF and OK wide on a crop frame

smaller image circle lenses (aps only) still have the same FOV as their larger image cirlce counterparts

IMO a 16-35 would be good general lens for the 7d, it is not ultrawide however, about the same as the 24-70 on a FF camera

IMO 1 24-105 is too long to be a general lens for a crop camera

Yeah, for wide shots, the Canon has some issues. But it still has more range.

For a 1.6 crop this is a really nice lens f2.8 and IS to boot!

I guess you have to cut and past links? Nox, even cutting and pasting I can't open your link.

Forget links. Just write what the product is and we can look it up if we need more specs.
