I have a project that has to get done right away. I usually shoot on our HVX but our current client is giving us footage shot in HDV 1080i on the Sony HVR-V1U. I can't figure out for the life of me what I'm doing wrong but premiere is not capturing. It just gives me an "unknown recorder error."

But when I switch to quicktime setting instead of HDV and use my standard settings for capturing DV footage it will capture fine. Just not in HD which is what I need it in.

    I'm using CS4 4.0.1. On a Mac Pro Quad Core. *8GBRam

Oh, I also tried capturing with iMovie and nothing there either.

    You're capturing using the V1U?
