Price Update?

Perhaps someone can fill me in on this?
I can't find a price list for the SI-2k anywhere. Arri sent me a copy in May of 2008, but I would like to know if any price's have changed since then?

Our company is ready too buy, and we are trying to debate between the RED One and SI-2k. It looks like we will be going with the RED, unless SI has come down on the price of their Full Camera system.

The price list I got from Arri shows that the SI-2K with recording system will run $34,500. This does not include any camera accessories.

With the RED, we can buy a RED One, Matte Box, Follow Focus, Support Package, used 35mm PL cine-lens, camera monitor and recording drives for about the same price as the SI-2K Head + Body.

Size man. I would pay the extra on the SI-2k. The thing fits anywhere. It's tiny, that's its ultimate edge, not to mention quality that can seriously compete with REDone.

The SI-2K is really not any smaller than the RED One, unless your talking about the 2K mini, which we are not considering.

Landon, Greg is still correct, as the full body SI-2K comes with the detachable SI-2K Mini. So you do get the benefits of size, even if you purchase the full body. I've only shot with the Mini, but the fully enclosed body would be handy at times.

Does that $38,000 include the P+S Adapter, or is that a separate purchase? I seriously think that if SI want's to compete with RED, they should bring there price down closer to that of the RED. I mean, really... I'm not saying the SI is worse than RED, but what does it offer that RED does not that should place it into a higher price category?

you can contact them through email and they will send you a PDF with price list. i think the camera alone is in the range of 25-30K. Definitely not cheap when you compare it basic package of red. They are some where in upstate NY.

The SI-2K Mini is $17,500
PL Mount ($350) B4 Mount ($1750) C-Mount ($140)

The SI-2K DVR Docking Recorder is an additional $17,000.
