Just got my first intervalometer & filterholder to use with the Isco

    First timelapse: http://vimeo.com/12983828

Funny thing is, I totally forgot the 5d2 shoots 4:3 in still mode. So the Isco turns it only into a 16:9 and so I still needed to crop to 2.35:1 to get that widescreen ratio which I am now used to for video.

    EDIT:

    It's 3:2 in stills mode, not 4:3.

I like the size of the jpeg-small & medium, a bit bigger than HD 1920, and gives me a lot of room for digital pans.

    EDIT:

    would this be correct? ..

An 1.5x anamorphic turns a still 3:2 image into a 2.25:1 ration correct??

    2784 x 1237 = a 2.25:1 ratio ...calculated by dividing the original vertical (1856) by 1.5 squeeze = 1856/1.5 = 2.25

    then divide the 1080/2.25 = 853

    resulting into a 1920 x 853 image...

correct me if i am wrong, but this is roughly the correct ratio after squeezing a 3:2 image, yes? (give or take some, as I know some people like it a tad skinnier and is objective. ie" only squeezing theie 16:9 image + Isco to a 2.35:1).

i was checking through register.com and noticed that iscorama.com was free. LOL
What the heck I got it. http://iscorama.com/ . Perhaps we can all pool that freaking 3 years of forum knowledge into it . I am open to sharing authorship for this blog.
anyway here's the little mod - or rather lossening of a screw to allow the iscorama to focus closer without diopters.

Nice! An actual website with blog, pics, videos, info & mods of Iscorama lenses would be a goldmine!

    Absolutely none out there.

Just received the Iscomorphot I won on ebay for my brother today. Played with it a little and took a few snaps )

    My brother's new anamorphic set-up/rig: GH13 + Voigtlander 40/1.4 + Iscomorphot 8 1.5x

Beauteeeful, aint she? The lightest, most inexpensive & most capable anamorphic rig for only under $1500 ;)

Anyone know how to take apart or remove the front focus part off of the Isco (Isco 42 same as 36?)?

Thinking about doing a little diy polishing off of the MC. Did a lot of research, and many were successful polishing off MC off of Leica and other lenses, using cotton balls, an hour of elbow grease & a mild polishing compound (Simichrome, Wenol, Pond's Cold Cream, Flitz polish, Mothers mag & aluminum polishing, Brasso, bon ami, other glass polishers/cerium ozide based).

I know, kinda risky & ballsy.. i'm just thinkin about it

Anyone have experience with araxfoto.com in Ukraine for repairs? I researched they are pretty good and inexpensive as well for lens polishing ($30-$50 per side versus $100 per side at Focal Lens Point). Also read though that they no longer offer polishing/coating anymore; I don't know if this is true still.

Also read that a chap by the name of Malcolm Taylor in the UK is a legend in lens and optics repair and did work for Leica museum. THough he has no working email addy I can find and I read that he only will inquire by phone (trying to sort out my cell to call there).

If any one else knows of specialty shops or people that does lens element polishing, please share. (I am in the US, but will ship international if need be and reputable shop)
