    yeah, its a cool one.

squig - yes its the 50mm, i have a little set of tiffens that i have been playing with on this lens...1, 2 and 4...any idea if they make other focal lengths? would love to get a few others and not have to put any lens doublers on for longer focal lengths.

Post some footage of all the anamorphic stuff you have.

Why are you guys using Diopters? 'Splain to me.

I've got a set of Tiffen Diopters, I do remember seeing more.

Rich awesome footage. I've been dying to shoot anamorphic. I had one of these one piece lenses before, the 50, from GoKevincameras but I couldn't get it to play nice on the Letus Ultimate.

I want to try something that gives various focal lengths. If I could get just three different focal lengths that'd be enough for me, of course a wide, medium and a tight.

    here is another test.

Kholi - the lens has a minimum focus of maybe 8 feet or something like that ( i have not measured so i might be off a few feet or so)...so in order to focus on anything closer then that you have to use a diopter.

Does the diopter change the field of view?

A 50mm Anamorphic on a S35mm sized sensor is more like a 35mm FOV after the stretch I think... so it's more like what, a 25 or so Full Frame? That's definitely wide enough.

Telephoto extenders would get you to the other focal lengths, but at what cost?

    Man I should've kept my Isco 50mm.

Sorry, that's wrong. Diopters don't change FOV. I can't remember what effect they have outside of close focus distance, though.

    hehe didn't even notice

I think close focus is 2m (<7 feet) but I haven't measured it myself

    I picked up a 10mm iscorama but it's a c-mount so might work on a GH1

There are 2 versions of the 50mm the iscorama and the 2001 MC which is a single piece lens.

the front of the lens we have is an isco 36 anamorphic adapter, I have an isco 54 too (the big bastard) it weighs 2 pounds has a 95mm filter thread and a 77mm rear thread. As far as I know they never made a lens back for these they were just for projectors but I discovered that people used to mount them to lenses on super 8 cameras. The 54 vignettes on the MKII wider than 50mm and isn't as sharp as the 50mm iscorama lens.

    here's some more info-
