Hi all,
Does anyone know what colors are going to be available in the United States? I'm looking at either the red or the blue. The black is to "business looking" for me. Not only do I like the red or the blue one better, but I think when shooting, my friends and relatives would be much more comfortable.. Its not like some professional, slick looking photo equipment stuck up on their face..(but little do they know, the quality is still good)

Initially in the U.S. only the black model will be available. World wide there are two other colors: red and gold. There is no word the blue color found on the G1 will ever be offered, or when anything but black will be offered in the states.

So basically, if I want to get a colored camera I need to buy it online from a European country.. oh, well, I guess I'll do that..

Are you sure you want PAL instead of NTSC? I'm pretty sure that the UK uses the PAL encoding, not the NTSC encoding we use here in the U.S. Also, the cameras sold in the EU have a 30 minute limit on the length of a video recording.
As Henry Ford said, "You can get it in any color you want as long as it's black". I'd either get black or wait for Panasonic to offer one of the other colors here.

some dealers in Germany offer/offered red GH1s (PAL !)
FotoErhardt and dnet24 delivers (now) in red.
Pana Switzerland also delivers in champagner (or red or black)

if you buy a european camera, you'll be stuck with a 30 minute record MAX because of their stupid tax laws.

it's annoying - but think, how often (yawning) a clip is longer than 30 minutes!
Terminator4 - as three 30-minutes-clips ... :-)
