I have a tutorial up on youtube that will show you how to quickly convert your 30p footage to 24p in Sony Vegas that looks good and renders quickly.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEBizKK5PUY&fmt=22 (link will be in HD soon)
What you need for this:
Sony Vegas 9, or any version of Vegas that supports Mk2 footage
5D Mk2 30p footage shot at preferably 1/40.

It looks pretty good, but I think it may just be dropping a frame. This is okay on still shots but when you have any movement then it's going to stutter. But if you have very fast motion you may not notice.
This method is a good one for when you don't have a lot of time because it is a very quick render.
Thanks for posting it.
