Seriously. Sadly doesn't even look like they're scheduled to have a press conference: http://www.nabshow.com/2009/newsroom...ceSchedule.asp. I hope they're holding out for ImageNation '09 or something.

Too bad. Canon has the resources to OWN the lower end cinema HD market if they would just rip the guts and the lens mount out of the 5D MKII and put in onto an XA-H1 body for under $10k. The 5D MKII can make such great images, it's too bad the form factor and controls are so messed up for filmmaking.

I think everyone who was holding their breath for a big NAB Canon announcement can exhale.

Is there a site doing good overall coverage of what's exciting at NAB? I'm pretty damn underwhelmed so far with what I'm hearing. No announcement from Apple, Canon, etc...

Apple does not attend tradeshows any longer, even MacWorld. IF Apple has any announcement, it will be at the FCPUG Supermeet, tomorrow 5PM to 11PM. I have heard mixed rumors about FCS3, some think it could drop, others are saying, no, late this year, 2010 or whenever the hell Apple decides they want to put it out ;-)

Canon seems to be MIA for NAB. I wonder how sales of the Canon pro video cams are going? I can't imagine that XL-H1s are flying off of the shelves these days.

This is the only article I've seen about Canon and NAB '09:

Canon never does anything with cameras at NAB. Never. They'll show lenses for other manufacturers, but that's about it.

Apple is not attending this year again?
So I guess no FCS 3 or Shake replacement announcements.
